There is a whole world around
Le Isole Shopping Center is located in Gravellona Toce surrounded by a splendid area.
Starting from the nearby cities of Omegna and Verbania passing through the natural parks and lakes Maggiore and D’Orta, the places around the shopping center ensure that the whole environment is magical and natural.
Gravellona and the VCO province
The province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, known as VCO, is a province of Piedmont with 163,247 inhabitants, created in 1992 and has the city of Verbania as its capital. Located in the north of Piedmont, it borders to the north, west and east with Switzerland, to the east with Lombardy and to the south with the provinces of Novara and Vercelli.
Located in an almost entirely hilly and mountainous area, its only moderately flat areas are the Ossola valley floor and the Intra plain.
Its altitude varies from 193 m (above sea level) at Lake Maggiore to 4609 at Punta Nordend of Monte Rosa in the Pennine Alps.
The Toce river is the most important in the area, it flows along the entire Val d’Ossola and collects the waters of the streams that descend from the side valleys. The whole area has a climate that varies greatly depending on the height, on the highest peaks we find temperatures below zero for most of the year, on the shores of Lake Maggiore a temperate climate predominates with cold winters, but milder than the inland areas, and hot summers. About 38% of the provincial territory is made up of protected areas and includes numerous parks within its territory.
Our natural parks
ValGrande National Park
Located between Lake Maggiore and Val d’Ossola, it includes 14 municipalities located in four valleys: Valle Intrasca, Val Cannobina, Valle Ossola and Val Vigezzo. The park offers easy routes suitable for families and more demanding excursions dedicated to the more experienced.
Site of extraordinary geological, naturalistic and historical interest. During the walks it will be possible to spot chamois, roe deer and deer or come across curious petroglyphs.
In the territory of the park there are also the Acquamondo Water Museum in Cossogno (Environmental Education Center of the Park), the Archaeological Museum of Soapstone in Malesco and the Visconteo Castle of Vogogna, to spend the days in the name of nature and culture.
The Natural Parks of Valle Antrona and Veglia-Devero
For those who love peace, lakes and mountains. The wild and austere aspect of the landscape that characterizes the highest peaks that exceed 3000 meters fades and softens as you go down in altitude without losing its charm. An intact and austere environment, scarcely contaminated by man.
Our lakes
Three bodies of water which, thanks to their beauty and the variety of places that surround them, have always attracted tourists from all over Europe. Botanical gardens, natural parks and period villas make these places unique.
They are also a popular destination for sportsmen, in fact they offer the possibility of carrying out activities ranging from water sports to winter sports, there are places such as Mount Mottarone equipped with ski lifts. Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta are navigable and equipped with boats for transporting tourists, while the use of motorboats is prohibited in Lake Mergozzo and for this reason it is one of the cleanest in Italy.
